Documents before the first withdrawal: thresholds counted from deposits

A request for a document is associated with a withdrawal and in most of the terms read that is exactly how it is written. But not in all of them: some operators trigger verification on an earlier stretch of the money's route, counting the threshold from what you deposit and not from what you are trying to take out.

This page collects only such provisions. They differ from withdrawal thresholds in one, but important detail: they are crossed when nobody expects it, because the money is still moving towards the casino.

A threshold counted from total deposits: 2000 EUR

Chipstars describes this most specifically of all the brands read. The provision says that verification must be carried out at the latest when the sum of the player's deposits reaches a cumulative value of 2000 EUR.

Two things distinguish this provision from the five withdrawal thresholds described elsewhere on the site. First, the sum is counted cumulatively, so the threshold is crossed by ten deposits of two hundred euros just as much as by one of two thousand. Second, the sentence about it stands in the KYC/AML policy and not in the terms — a separate document, at a separate address, whose existence you have to know about.

The same provision also says that withdrawals are not permitted before the player's identification is completed, regardless of the amount. The policy contains no clause number.

Three tiers counted from the amount of the transaction: 2000, 3000 and 5000 USD

LeeBet set verification out in steps and tied each of them to a different amount. The first step applies to everyone who wants to withdraw funds. The second — to everyone who deposits more than 2000 USD or withdraws any amount at all. The third concerns deposits and withdrawals above 5000 USD and transfers above 3000 USD.

A tiered construction is rare: in the whole set that was read it is the only case in which an operator assigned a different range of required documents to different amounts. The provision is in the AML policy, not in the terms, and has no clause number.

Three figures instead of one do not soften the requirement. They only spread it across three moments, the first of which is unconditional.

A threshold written in a coin and not in a currency: 0.05 BTC

Rocketpot in clause 11.4 gives the threshold twice over: verification may be carried out before processing withdrawals exceeding the equivalent of 0.05 BTC or 2500 USD.

It is the only provision read in which the boundary is expressed directly in bitcoin. This has an arithmetical consequence: the two parts of the same threshold drift apart with every larger change in the exchange rate, and which of the two variants fires first depends on the day.

The same terms add one more sentence: additional verification may be required for withdrawals above 2000 USD, and for smaller amounts as well, if the operator so decides.

Brands that check a document before the money comes in

Four operators wrote the requirement on the side of the funds coming in, without giving an amount.

• CryptoGames: as a rule verification must be completed before the first deposit is processed.
• Wild Fortune, clause 18.1: players paying with bitcoin must present a valid identity document before playing, and deposits and bets are blocked until verification.
• Bets.io, clause 5: the operator reserves the right to demand additional documents before processing deposits or withdrawals.
• Bitcasino.io, clause 6.6: the right to verify at any moment, expressly covering the first deposit.

To this is added Rakebit, whose KYC policy allows verification before a first deposit lower than 2000 USD, if the payment provider demands it. The condition here is double and depends on a third party the player does not choose.

Wild Fortune's provision is an exception in the whole set for another reason too: it is the only clause read that singles out players paying with cryptocurrency and treats them more strictly, rather than more leniently.

How much this is on the scale of the whole library

A verification clause was read at 49 brands out of a hundred. The provisions described above — counted from a deposit, from the sum of deposits or applying before the first deposit — were found at eight brands, of which half give any figure at all alongside.

Together with the five withdrawal thresholds this gives eight brands out of 49 that named an amount at all; two of them, Bitcasino.io and Rocketpot, count it on both sides at once. The other 41 do not tie verification to any amount on either side. Their provisions speak of the right to demand a document at any moment and at the operator's discretion — a construction that has no threshold, so it cannot be crossed or avoided by watching amounts.

The conclusion is narrow and concerns only planning: the amount of a deposit can be a document event just as much as the amount of a withdrawal.
